FS-ATIS ATC-TOOL

Under development, will be available later. Currently ATIS-messages are automatically and continously updated without active runway information or custom remarks.

FS-ATIS PILOT CLIENT for FS2004

  • SERVER CHANGED FOR VERSION 0.3.0 - ATIS MESSAGES ARE UPDATED 24/7!

  • Program MUST access internet - be sure to configure your firewall to let fs-atis.exe do http-requests.

  • Only ATIS radio stations  located  in Finland are supported

  • Once Flight Sim radio is activated, ATIS message is  downloaded from a www-server:
    primary: voice.vatsim.fi

  • You must be within  reasonable radio-range; radio horizon=1,25*sqrt(antenna height + altitude ft), and the radio must be set to correct frequency (see Atis_lista.txt), and it must be active.

  • Receiving ATIS messages broadcasted on NAV-radios (VOR frequencies) also supported.

Description: This is a quick and robust programming project to demonstrate that it is possible to use Speech Synthesis for ATIS messages when radio frequencies of MS Flight Sim are set to certain frequencies and they are set for audio.

Contents of installation package (fs-atis-demo.zip):

The package includes and installs necessary system components for speech synthesis.

Installation and usage

Unzip the files to directory of your choice and run the installer.

By default fs-atis installs to:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\dbasso\fs-atis

Important! fs-atis.exe is not (yet) a flight simulator module

A short cut FS-ATIS will be created on your desktop.

Use add/remove programs to deinstall.

fs-atis.exe does not add any registry entries

Usage:  
1. Launch Flight Simulator (2004) 
2. navigate to your desktop. 
3. Double click FS-ATIS shortcut.
4. Return to Flight Simulator. Fly. 

FS-ATIS will run until FSUIPC.dll stops working.
(eg. when you quit Flight Simulator).

Speech setup: use control panel / Speech 

  • select voice Mary, Mike or Sam
  • adjust rate
  • select audio device

System requirements:

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (versions 2000/2002 compatibility not tested)
Pete Dawson's FSUIPC.dll version 3.71 or later
Windows XP operating system

LOT'S OF FREE RAM / EFFICIENT PROCESSOR REQUIRED
IT MAY NOT WORK WITH YOUR PARTICULAR SOUND CARD,
OR SOUND DRIVERS, BUT THEN AGAIN - IT MIGHT WORK..

I have done my best to ensure that this package is safe to install and run
and that it does not contain malicous software. Nothing more.

DEINSTALLING FS-ATIS from Add/Remove programs will also deinstall
the speech synthesis components the installer added. If you want to preserve Speech Synthesis functionality.

FULL DOWNLOAD OF CURRENT VERSION 0.3.0: fs-atis-030.zip (about 12 MB)

If you have already downloaded and installed v. 0.1.2, 0.1.3 or 0.1.4, you can just replace the old fs-atis.exe with a new one.
download here: fs-atis-exe-030.zip (only 11,3 KB). You must MANUALLY replace the contents of program folder
with these two new files. The plain fs-atis.exe will not work without original full installation.
